The Fifteenth Annual Conference hosted by the Welsh Centre for Crime and Social Justice (WCCSJ) is scheduled to take place
on Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th of May 2026
at Wrexham University
This year's keynotes will be:
Grand Avenues - Reimagining Probation in the community - Professor Mike Maguire, Sue Thomas and Professor Kate Williams

Every year this event brings together academics, policy makers and those working in the field of Criminology and Criminal Justice. Participants will have the opportunity to present their research projects or thoughts on policy and practice, gaining valuable insights from peers and scholars across Wales.
The WCCSJ annual conferences allow members to forge connections which have underpinned pan-Wales research initiatives, making them a cornerstone of progress in the field of Crime and Justice.

Call for papers
We welcome full conference papers about 15 minutes in length.
- Papers can include works in progress, completed research, policy ideas, theoretical, comparative, practitioner focused or issues for practitioners etc.
- We welcome papers from practitioners, academics, policy-makers, and post graduate research students. PG Supervisors, please encourage your doctoral students to present a paper – the conference is very friendly and supportive.
- Any topics are welcome: theoretical; practitioner focused; policy focused; comparative; or others.
